Holykell HPT604 - Installation Part 1
Clean and prepare the location/surface to be drilled.
Use the 35mm (1.4”) Bi-metal hole saw with your power drill.
Before drilling, ensure the following:
a. Always wear safety goggles and hand gloves.
b. Avoid drilling in locations near the radiator.
c. Ensure there is sufficient workspace.
d. Try to drill the hole as close as possible to the center of the tank.
e. Make sure there is sufficient space for installing the fuel sensor’s junction box.
f. The hole should point towards the deepest part of the tank.
g. Pay special attention to any internal parts which could be damaged while drilling.
h. Make sure that there are no double walls under the hole.
4. Drill a hole in the tank using the power drill and Bi-Metal hole saw [D=35mm (1.4”)] at the selected location. To avoid metal splinters entering the tank, perform the following:
a. Use a magnet – this will help collect the metal splinters more efficiently.
b. Carefully drill with a slight angle.
c. Once completed, carefully remove the top with a screwdriver.
5. Measure and cut the copper rod.
a. Measure the internal height of the tank.
b. Cut a copper rod with an extra 4 cm (~2”) more than the height of the tank.
c. Zip-tie the fuel sensor to the copper rod.
6. Please note! In some cases, it will not be possible to drill holes through the fuel tanks, in that case, assuming that there is a gas exhaust tube, insert the sensors cable, as best as possible.
