An event is one of the key components of the Galooli solution. Events are occurrences detected by the server and can trigger alerts/notifications, or other actions notifying the user the event occurred. There are a variety of events that can occur, including temperature, power, fuel drop, speeding, and location warnings.

It is possible to set up events in my unit's configuration under the Events tab.

Events can either be digital or analog:

Digital events either occur or do not occur, therefore the event will be triggered only upon the occurrence of the event.

Analog events require a certain threshold setting. Meaning the occurrence of the event relies on the value attached to it. For example speeding event is triggered only when the vehicle speed reaches a pre-defined threshold which can be defined by the user.

Units that have been moved to the "Stock" cluster will be automatically disconnected from the server without the user receiving any notification about them.

Events Main Tab

The main tab of the events page lists all categories of events. There are different types of events within each category.

Please refer to the following link for more information about the main events.

Existing Events Structure

Each event contains several sections:

  • Event name - The name of the event as it will appear in the display, reports, and dashboards

  • Severity – The severity of the event as determined by the person who created it

To review the details of an event, double-click it.

Analog Events

Type – Choose between Value Exceeds/ Value Below. As analog events are value-based, such events should be triggered when reaching a certain value. The type determines if the trigger should be based on a value higher or lower than the determined threshold.

Display – Name of the event as it will be displayed in the system.

Severity – Severity of the event. Severity can be selected from the following: Disabled, Advisory, Caution, or Warning.

Delivery Method – Determine if the event should be sent via SMS, Email, or Push Notification. The Push Notification is relevant to the Galooli Mobile app. Please refer to the following link for more information about push notifications - Galooli Mobile Application Settings Page

Only Galooli users can get email and push notifications.

Time Before Activation – Users can determine how long the event can occur without notification. I.E a vehicle can be idling for 5 minutes before triggering an event.

Input Provides a list of physical and logical IOs as well as various information bids. These fields contain the source of information configured in the unit. By selecting the appropriate input/info bid in the list, a link is established between the event and the appropriate IO.

Threshold – Determine the value which will trigger the event.

Digital Events

Type – Choose between On State/ Off State. As digital is based on 2 states on and off, such events should be triggered only when the states switch from on to off or from off to on.

For example, a generator can be heated to 40 degrees for five minutes before an event is triggered.

Input – Provides a list of physical and logical IOs as well as various information bids. These fields contain the source of information configured in the unit. By selecting the appropriate input/info bid in the list, a link is established between the event and the appropriate IO.

Complex Events

With complex events, you can combine two or more events in different linked combinations in order to receive notifications about customized specific situations associated with your site.

For instance, if one of the generators on site operates when the grid is available. In other words, the power sources usage are not synchronized. Follow the steps below to receive notification of that situation.

  1. Set up a digital event that indicates when one of the generators are running.

  2. Create a digital event that informs about the status of the grid's availability.

  3. Create a complex event that includes the event listed above >> name the event >> choose the severity and the notification method (Email / SMS / Push Notification).

  4. Choose the time before activation, if necessary.

  5. You will need to add the digital events that you created in the previous steps and choose the appropriate conditions (Or/And).

  6. Apply and Save.

Complex events can include disabled notifications, since sometimes they are included in the complex's logics
