image-20240807-125421.png
  1. By double-clicking on the "Messages" option, a new tab will be opened with the name "Communication Log". You should drag this tab to the right side of the Power Center until you see a square icon. Locate the computer's mouse in this square and drop the "Communication Log" there. This action will locate the "Communication Log" in a convenient location so that it can be viewed to determine whether there has been communication with Sparta.

After that, click the “Sparta” tab again.

Ensure that the "Communication log" is filled with data.

  1. If it is necessary to change Sparta’s default parameters, please refer to the following section.

This section describes the changes that are made to Sparta when the user is physically connected to it. In the event that the connection is not physical, but rather via wireless connection (OTA), the Sparta should be set to "Maintenance Mode" in order to make any configuration changes.

  • Server URL
The address of the Galooli Server for the purpose of transferring data. This information can be found in the technical booklet of the organization.

  • Network APN

The following is a list of all the global SIM cards that Galooli offers. There will be a different APN for each local carrier.

    SIM card address:

    • Telefónica Digital Solutions - M2M & IoT (telefonica)

    • internet.gma.iot (t-mobile)

    • bicsapn (BICS)

  • Network User
There are some cellular operators that require a username for each SIM card. In the absence of a mention, move on.

  • Network Password
There are some cellular operators that require a password for each SIM card. In the absence of a mention, move on.

  • Out of storage voltage [V]
When a certain voltage is applied, the Sparta will move from the “Storage” mode to the “In Cabinet” mode. 13.1V as a default.

  • Storage Sampling Interval [Minutes]
During "Storage" mode, for the purpose of transmitting Sparta status and location to the system, an interval is set which indicates that the unit will periodically transmit data to the system. By default, the unit will check its own status every 60 minutes and transmit it to the server.

  • In-Cabinet Metrics Interval [Minutes]
The duration of Sparta connection to the server during each interval. 5 minutes is the default time.

  • In-Cabinet Wakeup Interval [Hours]
Sparta frequency of connection to the server. 24 hours is the default time.
Note: A serial connection can be made at any time. OTA connection can be made only in this period of time.

  • GPS state while in-Cabinet
The GPS receiver status is controlled while the Sparta is in the "In Cabinet" mode. The Sparta location will not be sent to the server during the "In Cabinet" wakeup interval if the box is unchecked.

  • Report Intervals [seconds]
Sets how often the Sparta transmits information to the server once the unit is in “Tracking” mode.

60 seconds is the default time.

  • Movement Sensor Sensitivity
Defines the Sensitivity level of the accelerometer (motion sensor).
    Normal is the default.

  • Disable User Interface
    TBA

  • Enable Silk Route™ Technology
With this option enabled, Sparta's track trail display on the map will be more accurate and uninterrupted while in "tracking" mode. Consequently, more power and data are consumed.

  1. Ensure that the Sparta hardware version is up-to-date, if necessary update the version. After an upgrade has occurred, click on “Write configuration”.

Whenever a serial connection is used, the version upgrade must be performed in "Maintenance" mode.
In order to upgrade the Sparta version wirelessly (OTA), you must wait for the Sparta "In Cabinet" interval, connect, switch to maintenance mode, and then upgrade the Sparta version.

Version updates can be performed through the Power Center or through the Galooli Solution.
