Modes

  • Maintenance Mode

The initial setting of the unit. This status mode is designed for configuration. Once the unit is installed in the battery, the administrator should manually move the unit to In-Storage mode.

  • Storage Mode

The unit is asleep and does not transmit data until it moves to In-Cabinet mode. This setting is relevant during the period that the unit is in storage and not connected.

Once an hour (default setting) the unit awakens and samples the voltage and save the information.

Once a day, the unit wakes up for 10 minutes and transmits the data it samples to the server.

Once the voltage exceeds 13.2V (default setting), the unit detects that there is a different power source. This will automatically move the unit to In-Cabinet mode.

  • In Cabinet Mode

The standard operating mode. The unit collects data (temperature & voltage) based on a 5-minute interval (default setting).

Every 24 hours (default setting), the unit will transmit all the gathered data to the server for 10 minutes.

Once the unit detects vibration or movement, it will move to In-Tracking mode.

  • Cut Off Mode

These units are In-Cabinet mode but have had no connection to the server for over 2 days.

  • Tracking/Movement Mode

The unit will begin transmitting its location every minute (default setting) to allow for tracking and tracing. Once the unit remains 10 minutes (default setting) with no movement, it returns to In-Cabinet Mode.

Maintenance State Timeout

When Sparta gateway is in one of the following modes: "Storage", "In Cabinet", or "Tracking”, and for some reason, switches to "Maintenance" mode, it will automatically return to the previous mode after one hour, with the exception of the following:

-Every communication with the host (serial of remote) will reset the 1-hour timer

-If the device is manually set back to maintenance mode (using the power center button), the device will
remain in maintenance forever.

Status is set by the unit itself.

Sparta Status Logic

The Sparta mods and the status in ZonMax are linked to facilitate the process of creating an alert.

Manual Location Setup

It may be necessary to manually configure the Sparta GPS location if there is no cellular reception in a particular location.

Please follow the next steps in order to set the Sparta location manually:

  1. Open the Power Center (if the Power Cent was already open, close it, and re-open it).

  2. Open the “Active Device” drop-down menu and select “Power Device”.

  3. Open the “Connect Via” drop-down menu and select the “OTA” connection.

  1. Provide the relevant login parameters and your Sparta ID.

  2. To set the location manually the Sparta should be in “Maintenance” mode. In order to switch to this mode navigate to the "Sparta" tab and click on “Maintenance Mode”. Please approve the pop-up.

As the Sparta has a specific “wakeup interval”, the “Maintenance” mode will only be active one hour after the last transmission of the Sparta. Therefore, it is important to check what was the last transmission of the Sparta and ensure that you connect to the Sparta the next time the “wakeup interval” occurs.

  1. Upon passing the wake-up time and providing the commands to the server, the Sparta should enter maintenance mode and you can now establish a direct connection to the set location.

  2. Repeat steps 1-4.

  3. Click on the "Set Location" button and enter your location's latitude and longitude and apply.

  1. Click the "Write Configuration" button and after the process is complete, click the "Reset" button.
