Installation

Locate the OBDII port in the vehicle and plug in the device. Normally the port will be located to the left or below the steering wheel. But the location may vary depending on the type of vehicle.

During installation, the vehicle should be off

In case you are using a splitter, the following steps should be taken:

  1. Attach the K3 unit to one side of the splitter

  2. Fixate the K3 unit to a select location in the vehicle behind the dashboard. Ensure the unit is not capable of movement or vibration

  3. Locate the OBD in the vehicle and remove the plastic covering

  4. Pull out the vehicle’s original OBD harness from its base in the vehicle

  5. Connect the original harness to one side of the splitter

  6. Connect the splitter to the vehicle base

  7. Return the plastic covering

  8. Download the configuration tool ( )

To ensure proper reading and driver behavior information, please ensure the unit is with the GPS antenna side up (the side with the sticker). The unit should be fixated to the OBD connection and not move.

Configuration

The K3 units will be configured by the Galooli support team as a default configuration without the option to use the different diagnostics listed below. This is due to the fact that when the diagnostics option is activated and data is gathered from the vehicle, it can cause some malfunctions in the internal alert system of the vehicle. Therefore, the K3 can only be used for track and trace purposes.

The user is solely responsible for the consequences of activating a different diagnostic option.

Supported Diagnostics Parameters

On/Off status with K3 is determined by the increase in battery voltage and RPM activity.

As all information is received from the engine computer, many parameters will be available only when the vehicle is On.
