Installation Preparation

Before you get started make sure you have the following:

  • Battery Cell Monitoring Kit:

    • Battery Cell Monitoring HUB

    • Battery Cell Monitoring Sensor (2/12 V)

    • Battery Cell Monitoring Hall Sensor

    • There are different adapters and cables included in the Battery Cell Monitoring Kit

  • Elara gateway

  • Power source to the Elara gateway of 12V

  • Power cables for the Elara gateway - two cables with a thickness of 0.5mm. The length of the cables is determined by the distance between the power source and the Elara gateway

  • Lead acid batteries

  • The power source of 24VDC or 48VDC to power the Battery Cell Monitoring HUB

  • Communication cables. Cables with a thickness of 0.5mm. The length of the cables is determined by the distance between the sensors and the surrounding environment

  • Ethernet wire

  • Electronic tools – screwdriver, multimeter, & f-crimp tool

  • RS485 To USB Converter & two 0.5mm thick communication cables. The length of the cables is determined by the distance between the RS485 to the USB converter and the computer

 Additional information:

  • The Battery Cell Monitoring HUB and the Elara are designed to be installed on a din rail

Configuration Preparation

  • PC or laptop computer

  • Power Center installed - Click here to download. Credential info can be received from your Account Manager or Galooli support

  • ZonMax installed - Click here to download. Credential info can be received from your Account Manager or Galooli support

  • Download the Battery Cell Monitoring Internal Software (PBMS2000 Monitoring Software)

  • RS485 to USB converter - Refer here for driver installation instructions.

  • The Elara should be connected and configured to the rectifier before the battery cell monitoring unit is installed and configured

Note! Make sure your computer recognizes the COM port at the “Device Manager”. Otherwise, install the proper driver.
