IOs (Inputs and Outputs) refer to the inputs installed in gateways, logical inputs, and info bids that are used for data and can be translated into events in the Galooli interface. Properly defining the correct input, name, and value in the IOs tab ensures the events displayed in the system and the reports are accurate.

In the system, three types of IOs can be defined:

  • Analog input embeds all the inputs which require a value definition. This can include fuel levels, battery power, engine temperature, and more. Analog inputs. In certain cases, such as fuel readings, analog inputs require a calibration table to effectively translate the values recorded from the input to values that can be analyzed by the user.

  • Digital input embeds all the inputs which contain 2 logically opposite values: true or false. This can include engine on/off, acceleration, brake, and more.

  • Outputs define all the outputs coming from the system to the unit. This specifically includes the Immobilizer order which immobilizes or mobilizes the vehicle.

Existing IO’s Structure

Inputs and outputs contain several sections that can be configured in the IO's creation tab.

IO’s Creation

  1. Click Configuration

  2. Click on the “IO’s” tab

  3. Find the relevant IO category (Analog Input, Digital Input, Output). You will see all the IOs in this category that already exists

  4. Click the + to add a new IO or double-click the category

4. Depending on the type of IO, complete all relevant fields and click "Apply".

  • Name - Free text. Provide a name that will help to detect and identify the input

  • Input - The internal name of the Input in the system

  • Calibration (Analog only) - In Galooli solutions, calibration is performed by adding a calibration table. To translate data into figures that can be analyzed and deciphered by the user, the table must be attached to the relevant input. Calibration tables should be created previously via the "My Calibrations” menu.

Display Text (Digital and output only) - The format in which the data will be displayed in the system

  • Panorama Display - Select to display the input values in the Panorama application

  • Percentage Display (Analog only) - Display values as percentages

Invert State (Digital and output only) - Invert input to an opposite logical value. Relevant mostly for sensors.

  • Main Fuel Tank (Analog only) - Indicate if the input measures the main fuel tank. If there is one fuel tank. Always select this option. If there is more than one fuel tank, select this option only for the aggregated one.

Panic (Digital only) - This will enable the Panic Button function. Units that are fitted with panic buttons will trigger an event upon pressing the button.

Immobilizer (Output only) - Identifies the output as belonging to the immobilizer function. This function will enable remote immobilization of the unit

IO's Removal

  1. Find the relevant IO and click on the X

Switching Between Galooli Applications

When a particular IO requires calibration, you can select the appropriate IO and switch to the "My Calibration" tool. This function is only possible on analog inputs, when the calibration is not 1:1.
