SMS Configuration
The K1 unit designed to extract data from the connected vehicle focuses on location tracking and remote immobilization capabilities. This manual will walk you through how to configure a K1 unit.
Preconditions to any configurations:
Prepare a list of units – The list should include the following info:
Unit ID
ICCID number of the SIM card that is to be inserted into the unit ID
MSISDN number (phone number) of the SIM card that is to be inserted into the unit ID
Enable the following SIM services on all SIM cards:
Data – both Uplink &Downlink communication.
SMS – MO (mobile originated) & MT (mobile terminated) services.
Verify that the SIM cards are operational – You may insert the SIM card into a mobile phone and test out the Data & SMS services.
Contact your MNO (Mobile Network Operator) company, and verify the following info:
a. What is the APN code the SIM card utilizes for internet services.
b. What are the Username & Password network credentials.
Contact the Galooli support department to receive a list of SMS commands configuration for your devices.
Simple Configuration Process steps:
Insert SIM card
Connect the device to a 12V power source.
Verify that the unit is connected on the GSM level – enables SMS communication.
Send out APN & Host SMS configuration commands.
Verify that the unit is connected on the GPRS level, and a PDP (Packet Data Protocol) session was established.
On your first configuration, contact Galooli Support and we'll send you a configuration file with all the relevant commands. You can use the same file for other unit configurations unless you need to make a change in the commands, then contact us again.
Send SMS configuration commands to the unit.
SMS command structure & procedure:
To send out an SMS command to a device, you must utilize the command structure accordingly:
a. Command structure:
[Name of command]
[various parameters]
[dividing commas between parameters]
[end command character (#)]
Example:
APN,<Network Name>,<User Name>,<User Password>#
b. A list of mandatory commands for any unit:
Procedure | Command Format | Example |
Defining the APN | APN,<Network Name>,<User Name>,<User Password># | APN,internet,User1,Password1# |
Server and port definition | SERVER,1,<domain name>,5026,0# | SERVER,1,v2.zoncontrol.net,5026,0# |
Enabling internet service with no valid GPS lock | GPSDUP,A# | GPSDUP,ON# |
You may configure a unit only utilizing sending SMS text commands.
Note that you may only send one individual command at a time.
Please wait to receive an acknowledgment message for each command.
Example of correct configuration of a device:
Host = v2.zoncontrol.net
Port = 5026

Vehicle Immobilization
K1 can be utilized to immobilize vehicles in case of theft or issues which require immediate attention. Vehicles will only be immobilized when the vehicle is off
Warning! The immobilizer should only be wired to the ignition as detailed in the wiring diagram below. The immobilizer should not be wired to fuel wires or any wire other than the ignition. Wiring not according to the diagram above can cause major damages or injuries when using the vehicle.
To enable immobilization, the wiring should be implemented as follows:
As seen above, the orange wire should be connected directly to the ignition. The yellow wire should be connected to the immobilizer relay.
