  1. Connect the Battery Cell Monitoring HUB to the computer via the RS485 connection.

To perform the initial identification and connection of the Battery Monitoring components to the computer, follow these steps:


1. Download the Battery Monitoring Software (PBMS2000 Monitoring Software)

2. Ensure that the Battery Cell Monitoring HUB is powered on

3. Open the “PBMS2000 Monitoring Software”

4. The first connection should be made to the HUB as shown in the image below.

5. Select the ‘Settings’ tab >> A new window will appear

6. In the “Address Info” tab, press the ‘Search’ button >> Choose the number of strings (1 or 2) >> Save

You should then be able to see the serial numbers of the sensors that are connected to the hub. The first sensor listed will be the one connected to the hub.

7. Click on the “Battery Info” tab >> Read >> Save.
In this section, you will find information about the string.

8. Click on the “Connection Settings” >> TCP/IPv4 section >> Read

Your actions will now depend on whether or not a configuration has been made between the rectifier and the Elara.

  • If a configuration has been made between the rectifier and the Elara then follow the next steps:
    a. Copy the rectifier IP address
    b. Make sure the IP address is pasted in the appropriate location in the "PBMS2000 Monitoring Software" and that the last digits of the IP address are not the same as the address of the ELARA or rectifier.
    For example:

c. Make sure that the IP address is saved correctly >> Read the data again to ensure that the data was correctly saved

  • If a configuration has not been made between the rectifier and the Elara then follow the next steps:
    a. For later use, copy the IP address from the IP address box.
    b. Save the data

9. Go to “Balance Setting”, and click "Yes" in the "Balance Enable" row. Afterward, write down 98.0 at the "Target Balance (%)" and 120 at the "Balance Interval Time (s)”. Save the configurations.

10. Click on "Res Measuring" and follow the instructions below.

11. Click on “Address Info” and then “Save”

12. To confirm that all modules are communicating with data, close the “Settings” window and press the “Read” button.

Note that the current value (A) depends on the status of the batteries and the system provides value only on “discharge” and “charge” status.

On “Charge” status, the system provides a positive value.

On “Discharge” status it provides a negative value.

When the status is “Floating” or “Rest” status the system will provide a value of 0 (A).
