Performing the ethernet port update process exactly as outlined in this document is important for the proper operation of the Elara gateway.

  1. Make sure that the Elara version and IAP version are up to date.

  2. Connect the Elara to the computer using serial or OTA connections and copy the "ELARA IP”.

In case you have a new Elara that does not have IP number, you should add SNMP ETH Device (Rectifier
for example) and this action will create the Elara IP.

3. Connect Elara directly to your computer via Ethernet connection.

4. Open the “Network Connections” on your computer, go to “Ethernet”, find the “Internet Protocol Version
4 (TCP/IPv4) and double click it.

The Elara IP must be written down exactly as it is, but the last number must be changed, as you can see in the example below.

5. Install the USR K7 Ethernet Module software, open it and click “Search Device”. Make sure that a device is
found and then click on it. Go to the “Device” tab and click “Firmware Upgrade”.

6. After you click “OK” a new window will open up. First of all, make sure that the “Local IP Address” is the same as mentioned in paragraph 4, then you will need to choose the updated version of the Ethernet port (Contact Galooli Technical Support for an updated version file) and click “Program”. Make sure that the progress bar in the application gets to 100%.

7. In order to make sure that the update is succeded please close the Power Center and open it again.
Connect to the Elara and check that you see the “EXTENDED” note near the Elara version number.
