Backup batteries are highly sensitive to temperature, which directly affects performance and lifespan. In many cases, they are not required for system operation, and due to environmental limitations—especially high temperatures—their use may lead to reduced reliability. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid using backup batteries unless there is a clear operational need, and to source them locally if required.
Galooli gateways are already connected to the site power source; therefore, backup batteries are not always required.
To provide warranty, a temperature sensor must be installed. Warranty is valid only for indoor, cooled installations—outdoor installations are not covered.
When used, the temperature inside the battery enclosure or tray must be monitored and kept within the specified range, as internal temperatures may be significantly higher than ambient.
Physical Installation
The backup battery can be installed as part of the Tray Set or Metal Enclosure Set of the Galooli Ultragate Gateway.
