Linking Multiple Devices into a Single Virtual Device
Overview
In scenarios where the total cable diameter does not allow measuring current with a single CT ring, the current must be split across multiple CT rings and meters. A new capability allows linking multiple meters into one virtual meter so the system treats them as a single logical device.
This configuration is handled at the device level, while the cloud aggregates and presents the values correctly.
Use Case
Multiple CT rings are required to measure total current.
Each CT ring is connected to a separate DC meter.
The meters must be represented as one meter in the system.
Configuration Steps
Virtual ID Configuration
Configure all relevant meters with the same Virtual Device ID.
Example:Solar use case:
Virtual ID = 34Any other use case: use the required Virtual ID.
Linked Device Setting
Select one of the meters and mark it as Linked Device in the Modbus Device Configuration.
All other meters remain unlinked but share the same Virtual ID.
Status & Data Representation
After configuration:
Connection Status:
The aggregated virtual meter will be displayed as Connected if at least one of the linked devices is in Connected status (OR logic).
Total Output KWH: Displayed value is the sum of total energy from all linked meters.
Voltage: Displayed value is the maximum voltage among all linked meters.
Current: Displayed value is the sum of currents from all linked meters.
The cloud automatically handles aggregation and presents correct values as if coming from a single physical meter.
Notes & Limitations
You can link more than two meters — link as many as required.
This mechanism is not limited to CE DC Multi-Channel meters.
Any supported meter type can be linked using this method.
