Ultragate Installation & Configuration

Ultragate Installation & Configuration

Required Equipment & Software's

  • External AC to DC Power Supply for the Ultragate - 12V/2A (Included in the package)

  • Green terminal blocks for the different connections

  • Galooli cabinet tray/box set (Optional but advised)

  • Power source for the Ultragate Tray/Metal Box - 18-75v DC (In the case of a metal box/tray usage)

  • Computer with internet connection

  • Power Center Software downloaded and installed - link

  • Activated SIM card of a standard type or LAN internet connection

  • Two RJ45 (Ethernet) cables for the router and the computer. The length of the cables is determined by the distance between the Ultragate devices.

  • GSM Antenna

  • GPS Antenna

  • Screwdriver (Slotted & Phillips)

  • Galooli Metal Box/Tray (If necessary)

Physical Installation & Configuration

By following this process, you will be able to insert the Galooli solution parameters into the Ultragate memory, as well as configure the Ultragate gateway to work with the Galooli solution platform.

Step 1 - Network Connection

There are two connection options for integrating the gateway into the network:

  • ETH Connection - Connect the first RJ45 cable to the “ETH0” (service port) and to the router (Provides DHCP Connection) and connect the second RJ45 cable to the “ETH1” (main port) and to the computer for further configurations.

OR

  • SIM Card Connection - Insert the SIM card into the SIM slot and connect the appropriate Ethernet cable according to the device type.

Step 2 - Power Connection

Connect the Ultragate gateway to power (12V).

When using the Ultragate Gateway in the tray/box with the external battery, it is crucial to ensure the DC/DC is set to 13.5V to allow proper battery charging.
This step must be included as part of the standard procedure, along with verifying the voltage using a voltmeter to confirm it is correctly configured.

Step 3 - IP/Unit Configuration

  1. In the Ethernet properties of your computer, please configure the static IP address of the computer so that it matches the Ultragate device's IP address range.
Control Panel >> Network and Internet >> Network and Sharing Center >> Change Adapter Settings >> >> Choose the relevant Ethernet network >> Locate “Internet protocol Version X (TCP/IPv4) >> Enter the following data:
    As an example:

    • Ultragate = 192.168.100.55 (LAN 1)

    • IP address = 192.168.100.58

    • Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0

image-20241121-092853.png
  1. Open any browser and type 192.168.100.55 IP (Port 2) to access the Ultragate gateway via the Galooli portal.

Defaulted IP:

  • ETH 0 Port 1: 192.168.1.11

  • ETH 1 Port 2: 192.168.100.55

  1. Enter the following username and password after the Galooli portal appears on the screen:
    User name - Please contact Galooli's support - https://galooli.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KP/pages/2617409565
    Password - Please contact Galooli's support - https://galooli.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KP/pages/2617409565

image-20250417-083109.png
  1. Now the Registration process must be completed.

The username and password that you should use to access are your Galooli platform username (Email) and password.

For global users please add the name of the organization after the username (Email).

If this is the Gateway first time connecting to the platform, a Registration window will appear and must be completed.

image-20250422-072311.png

If this is not the Gateway’s first connection to the platform, the Registration window will not appear.
However, Registration is still required for every new connection and must be performed manually as follows:

Upon completion of this process, the system will perform an automatic reset. Please log in again.

  1. Copy the Device ID and save it.

image-20250417-083450.png
  1. Click on "Configuration" >> “Download Arrow” >> Open the file gib file >> Locate the "host" row and verify that the host is configured accordingly to your server URL. If not, contact the Galooli Account Manager.

image-20250417-084002.png
  1. Click on "Configuration" and upload the configuration file you downloaded in the previous step (gib file) to the “Parameters file” row. After that click on “Restart Device.

image-20250417-132220.png

You will be disconnected from the Galooli portal as a result of this action. Refresh the page after two minutes and log in again.

  1. Afterward, go to "Status" >> “System” >> “Host Status” and ensure that the host is "Connected" and you will see all digital and analog devices connected to the Linux Gateway.

    image-20250417-132904.png
  2. Open the Galooli Solution >> Manager Application >> Create a new unit with the Device ID you copied. A detailed description of the unit creation can be found in the https://galooli.atlassian.net/l/cp/UP1dke1b menu knowledge document.

  3. Once you have created the unit, ensure that you can see the unit on the Panorama application https://galooli.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KP/pages/2907373569

Step 4 - Power Center Configuration

Once the Ultragate unit is visible in the Panorama application, you should start connecting the various devices & sensors directly to the Ultragate gateway or to the Galooli tray/metal box. Documentation regarding the installation and configuration can be found at the following links:

In order to connect the Ultragate analog/digital inputs to the Galooli Tray/Metal box inputs, the connections should be made in a specific order motioned in the following link.

  • Voltage-only

image-20250610-082518.png
  • Current-only

image-20250610-082657.png

In case you want to mix the input parameters so that some measure voltage and others measure current—for example, Inputs 1, 2, and 4 measuring voltage, and Input 3 measuring current—the “Address” must be replaced as follows:

  1. Add the voltage default RTU >> Open the group and double-click on Input 3.

image-20250610-083527.png
  1. Change the “Address” field to the relevant address from the list below:

    • Input 1 Current - 0

    • Input 2 Current - 2

    • Input 3 Current - 4

    • Input 4 Current - 6

  2. Apply the changes >> Write the configurations
