Detailed Report Use Case

The Request

You received an email notification from the Galooli system regarding an on-gird not hybrid site that contains a generator. This notification was caused by an event called “Site on batteries”. It is your responsibility to investigate why the site worked on batteries when that is not the natural power source of this site.

This situation may be caused by one or more of the following factors:

  • There is no grid connection and the generator is not automatically started to run

  • The generator battery level is low there for the generator fail to start

The Solution

  1. Open the Galooli Pro Application.

  2. To create a full site status map, add the following fields:

    • Add a “Recorded Analog Inputs” >> "Site_Global.Grid_Available" field, which indicates when the grid is no longer available.

    • Add a “Recorded Digital Inputs >> Site_Global.Generator_X_Running” field, which indicates the status of the generator.

    • Add a “Recorded Digital Inputs >> Site_Global.Battery_Discharging” field, indicating whether the battery is discharging.

    • Add a “Recorded Digital Inputs >> Site_Global.Generator_X_Fail_To_Start” field, which indicates that the generator has failed to start.

    • Add a “Recorded Analog Inputs >> Generator_X.Battery_Level [V]” field, which indicates the current battery level of the generator.

    • Add a “Recorded Analog Inputs” >> “Generator_X.Not_in_AutoMode” field, which indicates if the generator's working mode is not "Auto".

3. Use the "Detailed Graph" view in order to gain a full understanding of the site's operational status and in order to determine why the site operated on batteries when it was not supposed to.

The graphs below shows two possible reasons why the site ran on batteries instead of a generator.

As can be seen from the first graph, since the generator's battery was unable to perform the initial electrical power, the site's emergency batteries were activated to provide electricity to the site.

The second reason is, since the generator was not in it’s “Auto Mode”, as soon as electricity was not received from the power grid, the generator did not begin operating independently, so the batteries began to provide power to the site.
