Remote Control of the Generator

The generator must be equipped with a supported generator controller in order to be controlled via the relay and the Elara.

Before connecting the voltage lines, it is necessary to cut off the AC power. Once the wiring procedure is completed, you may turn the AC power back on.

Any electrical installation should be carried out only by a certified high voltage electrician

  1. Ensure that you have the DC Relay & socket 12V - https://galooli.atlassian.net/l/cp/Jv69a6rV.

  2. Connect the relay to the socket.

3. Determine whether the relay should be set to "NO" (Normally Open) or "NC" (Normally Closed)
according to the wiring diagram you received from Galooli.

  • “NO” (Normally Open)

14 or 24 to X voltage. The voltage depends on the component on which the relay will be installed

  • “NC” (Normally Closed)

  1. Determine whether the generator controller is requires a positive (+12V) or negative (GND) input to start.

For positive start controllers:

  • Connect 12V DC to COM (11 or 21)

  • Connect NO (14 or 24) to generator controller remote start terminal

For negative start controllers:

  • Connect GND DC to COM (11 or 21)

  • Connect NO (14 or 24) to generator controller remote start terminal

  1. Connect A1 (Relay) to Elara output

  2. Connect A2 (Relay) to 12V DC

By using this progress, you will be able to remotely control the “on” and “off” status of the generator via the Elara gateway and Galooli solution.

Configuration

  1. Open the Web Solution platform, select the "Manager" application >> "My Units" >> select the unit.

  2. Go to “Configuration” tab >> “IO’s” >> add new “Output” >> Fill out the fields as shown in the image.

  3. Save the changes

  4. If the control should be immediate and total, proceed to the next step.

In the event that the control should contain a timeout, please connect to Elara via the Power Center and
set the Output Global Timeout.

5. Navigate to the "Site Generator Card” in Galooli Panorama >> Live Mode. Check if the "Control" option
can be seen and used.

The same can be done using the Galooli mobile app in the "Control Story" section.
