Based on a daily data usage test performed on the Elara gateway with a rectifier, fuel sensor, AC and DC meters connected, the monthly usage was 50 megabytes.

The conditions of the test:

  • Network stability/online availability > 97.5%.

  • Once a minute transmission.

  • Any additional device may increase the consumption of data.

  • Data consumption is not calculated for initiated queries, upgrades, reading and writing data per unit, cut through, and X-ray.

GPS Support

There are different actions within the Elara gateway that relate to the GPS location behavior.

When the GPS data is transmitted by the Elara to the server?

  • Automatic Location Report
The Elara gateway will update the location every time a status transmission is made to the server if the "Report Location" option is configured.

  • “Information” Button
When you click on the "information" button, the Elara location is requested and sent to the server. The location will be displayed only in the Power Center.

  • “Request Location”
When you click on the “Request Location” button the server is force the Elara to send the location to the server. Based on the last GPS data, this location is transmitted to the server to set the unit's location on the map.

When the Elara map location is updated by the server?

  • Not a stationary asset & no layout code configured
With each transmission, the position of the unit is updated on the map, unless the longitude and latitude are 0,0 in which case it is not updated on the map.

  • Stationary Asset

    • In the event that the unit has transmitted a location more than 50 meters away from its previous location then the location of the unit will be updated on the map.

    • In the event that you request a location with the "Request Location" command, and only in the next transmission status the location will be updated on the map.
