The value will have different types of summary/total calculation.

  • The different types are: Count distinct, Sum, Average, Min, Max. The default for the pie item is "count distinct" (no matter what the field type is).

  • The value field type (numeric / textual / date) will affect the valid options for the summary type:

    • Numeric - Count distinct, Sum, Average, Min, Max

    • Textual - Count distinct

    • Date - Count distinct, Min, Max

  • The user must choose a value before choosing a summary type (the summary type drop down will be disabled before choosing the value).

  • After choosing the value, only the relevant summary types will be shown. If the user changed his selection and chose a value with a different type, the summary type will change to the type's default state. The defaults:

    • Numeric - Sum

    • Textual - Count distinct

    • Date - Count distinct

...

can include the argument name, value, and percent out of total. Default is argument name and value (e.g., "Available, X units available"). Th element - drop down with the following checkboxes:

  1. Argument

  2. Value

  3. Percent

...

the field that is bonded to the “Filter” can be used to filter out elements from the chosen value, only for the specific data item. As default, no filter will be defined. The filter will have predefined options based on the chosen field type:

  • Numeric - equal to, not equal to, greater than, less than, between

  • Textual - equal to, not equal to, contains

  • The conditions can be concatenated by And, Or functions. (too much?)

  • For example, L/H < 10 Or Generator KVA != 0.

The configuration section is the heart of the dashboard designer solution. In this section, the user can configure all aspects of the final dashboard, including how it will look, which data will be displayed, and how it will function

It is important to note that the configuration of this section affects the section below it.

Image Modified

In the configuration section, you will find a variety of configuration and filtering tools. Below is a description of each tool and its behavior.

Edit/View Modes

View

The dashboard designer can be in an "Edit" mode or ‘View" mode, which can be selected with a toggle.
Using the "View" mode, you can only filter the existing items (Pie, Charts, etc.), but you cannot create or edit them.

Image Modified

Filter

The "Filter" option lets you filter all the fields on the original report. If you select the fields you want to filter, you can then select the values for those fields. In this way, the dashboard will be filtered based on the values you put in.

Edit

The "Edit" mode allows you to create, edit and configure different dashboard items (Pie, Charts, etc.).

Dashboard View Options

The dashboard view options allow users to configure specific features for the dashboards they create. The available options are:

  • Allow Filters: This option enables users to apply filters to the dashboard data when accessed through the Panorama Analytics view.

  • Allow View Report: This option allows users to view the fields used to build the dashboard when accessed through the Panorama Analytics view.

  • Refresh Every X Minutes: This option sets an automatic refresh interval for the dashboard when accessed through the Panorama Analytics view. The minimum refresh interval is 10 minutes, and the maximum is 999 minutes. The default interval, when activated, is 60 minutes. This feature is applicable only to Asset, Event, and Detailed reports.

New Item and Configuration Tools

Dashboards may contain items of different types and more than one of the same type.

The items are used to display specific types of data, and based on the type of an item, configuration tools will also be available.

When you create an item, it will appear in the main items section of the screen.

The item types are:

  • Pie

  • Card

  • Chart

  • Table

  • Text Box

Configuration Tools

Different configuration tools are available depending on the type of dashboard item.

It is necessary to first click on an existing item or create a new item in order to view the associated configuration tools.

The following is a detailed explanation of each item and its configuration tools

The pie is divided according to the argument. The pie can contain more than one argument, and then each section will be a combination (cartesian product) of the arguments. As default, no argument will be defined.

  • Arguments can only show the top/bottom N results. N can be set by the user. In addition, an "others" option will be available - all the arguments which are not in the top N. As default, the "Top N" box will not be signed, so the options below it will be disabled.

  • The element - drop down list, up to 10 rows, with scroll, with search bar.

...

The data set that would be divided into the pie "slices". Only one value can be chosen for the pie. As default it will always be “unit id” in “count distinct” mode. If the unit id was not part of the report, use "unit name". If both are not included in the report, there will be no default value. The default field can be replaced by any other field from the data source.

  • If the user didn't select a value, he can still select an argument, and the summary type mode will be count distinct.

  • Note that the value is not affecting the calculation when choosing "count distinct" as the summary type. However, to avoid confusion, it will be displayed to the user and the user will be able to select different fields as "value" (but the pie sections will not be changed as a result).

  • The element - drop down list, up to 10 rows, with scroll, with search bar. A radio button will be used to choose the value field, because only one field can be chosen, and the user will be able to view what was value chosen (see figma).
