Introduction
The EX-20 extension enables the expansion of connectivity options that operators require in their sites.
It also converts RS232 to RS485, making it possible for Elara to communicate with different devices that have different communication protocols.

Preparation
Before getting started, make sure you have the following items:

Electrical wires
Wire stripping tool
RS-485 to USB adaptor (for connecting to the Elara via PowerCenter - make sure to install the drivers)
Voltmeter (for troubleshooting voltage issues)

PowerCenter application installed - with credentials
Zon Max application installed – with credentials
Elara tray/shelter - including the Terminal blocks

Before getting started with the installation, make sure you have the wiring diagram relevant to your project.

Configuration The ID of the EX20 in Power Center
Connect the EX20 to a 12V DC power supply.
Connect the EX20 to the computer via the RS 485 to USB converter.

Open the “Active Device” dropdown menu and Select “Power Device.”

Connected via” dropdown and Select the relevant “Com port.”

Navigate to the “
EX20” tab on the top toolbar.

Set Device ID”, a pop up window will appear, set the ID of the Ex20 device according to your Wiring Diagram and apply.

Disconnect the EX20 from the current setup.
Configuration of the Elara in Power Center
Connect the EX20 to a 12V DC power supply – from Termnial Blocks.
Connect the EX20 to the second RS 485 Elara port.
Using the RS485 to USB converter, connect the PC to the DLS & BZR ports on the Terminal Blocks.

10. Click the “Add Port-2 Device” botton, and the” ELARA-Modbus Device Configuration” window will pop up.

11. In the “Elara – Modbus Device Configuration” fill in the relevant fields:
a. In the first “Device” dropdown list, select “Galooli”.
b. In the second “Device” dropdown list, select “EX20”.
c. In the “Physical & Virtual Device ID”, input the ID number that you have configured previously, according to your wiring diagram.
d. In “Device Baudrate” select 19200.
e. Click “Apply”.

12. Click the “Write Configuration” button.

13. Click the “Reset” button.

14. After the unit has reset, navigate to the “Status” tab, and verify that you can view that the EX20 is connected.

The Ex20 extension enables the expansion different gateways like the Elara, Techbase, and Axiomtek.
With the Ex20 connected to the gateway tray/metal box, a greater quantity of analog and digital sensors may be connected to the gateway.
