DC Aviation Warning Lite is monitored via dry contact communication. For this installation, Galooli solutions such as Elara and EX20 extension have dedicated dry contacts connected directly to the AWL controller.

Preparations

Installation Preparation

Before you get started make sure you have the following:

  • Project’s Wiring diagram - Provided by Galooli Support

  • Find the AWL controller

  • The power source of +12V DC to power the Galooli RTU (Elara)

  • Electrical wires

  • Electronic tools – screwdriver, multimeter, & f-crimp tool

Configuration Preparation

  • PC or laptop computer

  • Galooli Software Solution link

  • Power Center installed - Click here to download.

  • RS485 to USB converter - Refer here for driver installation instructions.

  • Technical Booklet - Provided by Galooli Support team.

Note! Make sure your computer recognizes the COM port at the “Device Manager”. Otherwise, install the proper driver.

Elara Connection

Connecting the AWL controller to the Elara Terminal Block

  1. Connect the Elara tray/Elara to power in accordance with the wiring diagram.

  2. Connect the output cable from the AWL controller to the Terminal Blocks of the Elara tray/Ex20/Elara itself, in accordance with the wiring diagram.

Galooli Solution Configuration

Device Configuration

After you finished the installation and Power Center configuration of the device, we can move on to the device’s configuration on the Galooli solution platform.

  1. Open the Galooli solution and login using your credentials.

  2. Open the Manager application >> My units >> Select the relevant unit you wish to configure.

  3. Go to the “Configuration” tab >> “Device Configuration” >> “Section: Global” >>check the “Aviation Lights”.

  4. Click “Save”.

Digital IO’s Configuration

  1. Open the Manager application >> My units >> Select the relevant unit you wish to configure.

  2. Click on “IO’s” >> Click to “+” on the digital input you want to add.

  3. Add the input “Site_Global.Aviation_Light_Configured” >> Display Text “Yes - No” and add the input “Site_Global.Aviation_Light_Fail” >> Display Text “Active - NonActive”

  4. Click “Save” in the end of the process.
